Kid's Stuff

Free Stuff to Keep Kids Tired and Happy

There's a little bit of kid in all of us, that's why we choose to live at West Virginia's New River Gorge. It’s a true outdoor playground. But actual kids need kid-friendly adventure too. At Adventures On the Gorge we've got it in spades.

If Canyon Falls Swimming Pool isn't enough for your youngsters, check out our huge playground on the Canyon Rim Campus with slides, swings and plenty to climb on. If your children want some big-kid adventure, sign them up for Kids Camp while you raft, climb or zip your way through the West Virginia hills.

Hiking & Biking Trails

Hiking and Biking trails at Adventures On the Gorge

Break away and explore the almost 5 miles of trails on our property. Check out the twisty Mill Creek Trail, winding its way along the creek of the same name and under and around TreeTops Zip Line Canopy Tour. Hike it or bike it—the choice is yours.

If that's not enough for you, our property is adjacent to the New River Gorge National River with countless miles of trails. In the Park you can hike through ghost towns, past old mines, under and atop exposed cliff lines and even through caves.

Games Around the Resort

Free Games and Athletic Facilities at Adventures On the Gorge

You'll flip for our gaming facilities. Our Mill Creek Campus has pool tables on the top floor of Rendezvous Lodge, plus sand volleyball and corn hole. Across the street at the Canyon Rim Campus, we've got even more corn hole, plus a playground with tetherball. Spike it.

Disc Golf

Free 9-Hole Disc Golf Course on the Rim of West Virginia's New River Gorge

Tucked in the forest between Chestnutburg Rd. and the New River Gorge is one of the best-kept secrets at Adventures On the Gorge. Designed and built by AOTG river guides, Raven Ridge is tight, technical and filled with dips and doglegs leading to regulation baskets.

Raven Ridge Disc Golf is absolutely free and open 24/7 (though we don’t recommend crashing around in the woods at night). Bring your own discs or shop a huge selection of regulation equipment at Canyon Rim Outfitters on the Canyon Rim Campus.

Daily Living

Everything You Need to Keep in Touch and Stay Constructive

All the adventures, games and food are great, but we also know that (sometimes) people just need to get things done. We may be the premier adventure vacation resort on the East Coast, but we're not barbarians.

We've got what you need to make it through your day, including: a guest-services concierge, free Wi-Fi all over the place, four large shower houses, meeting spaces, ATMs at both campuses, coin-op laundry facilities, shuttle services ($), firewood delivery ($) and GOOD coffee & espresso drinks at Sweet's Java Falls.
