Summersville Lake is a truly unique resource. Dammed in 1966 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the water level of the Gauley River rose and rose and rose until it met the cliffs at the rim of the gorge. The result is a massive, crystal-clear freshwater reservoir, rimmed by towering sandstone cliffs, which we’ll explore by pontoon boat, stopping along the way to rock climb, swim, kayak and stand-up paddleboard.
After that, you are off for TreeTops Zipline Canopy Tour, one of the longest and best in East. With 10 zip lines, 5 skybridges, 2 short hikes (to regain elevation) and 1 nervy rappel from a 40-foot-tall tree platform, we’ve got your afternoon of adventure covered. Between rides, we’ll tell you all about the our 40-acre old-growth Hemlock preserve, one of the few forests of its type remaining in the world.
Combine one of the longest and most beautiful zipline canopy tours in the East with one of the most unique multi-sport experiences in the world.
