West Virginia's Restaurant and Outdoor Recreation mecca. Voted one of America's “Coolest Small Towns” by Budget Travel Magazine, Fayetteville, WV has truly become a destination vacation spot in Southern West Virginia.
No New River Gorge vacation is complete without a visit to Fayetteville, just across the Bridge from our resort.
This historic town is perhaps best known for the New River Gorge Bridge, a remarkable single-span arch bridge resting at 876 feet above the New River. This area hosts the famous annual Bridge Day Festival in October; when hundreds of base jumpers parachute from the side of the bridge, adding a splash of color to the already brilliant fall foliage.
In recent years, Fayetteville has also become the unofficial culinary capital of West Virginia. You'll find a wide-range of local dining options—everything from country diners, corner cafés and coffee houses to elegant gourmet restaurants.
There is also a varied array of lodging options such as bed and breakfasts, country inns, hotels/motels, camping, cabins and vacation rentals. Local merchants provide an eclectic shopping experience from fine West Virginia-made arts and crafts, antiques, specialty shops, outdoor sports equipment and art.
