Lower New River Whitewater Rafting Package

It's a Riverfest! Raft West Virginia's iconic New River Gorge, plus meals included.

The Lower New River is the trip that built the West Virginia whitewater industry, especially in the warm southeastern summer months. This getaway includes the classic run, a delicious breakfast, lunch on the river and a Smokey's Steakhouse Prix Fixe dinner.

This Package Includes
  • Rafting on the Lower New River (Choose the Family Lower New, if you have kids aged 9-11)
  • One breakfast, one riverside lunch, one dinner

More than 40 years after the first Mountain River Tours raft put in at Thurmond, this is still our flagship run. It's got everything you could possibly want from whitewater rafting—stunning scenery, pounding whitewater, relaxing swim time between rapids and rich WV coal history lining the banks the entire way. This trip provides enough challenges to thrill even seasoned veterans, but is also excellent for first-timers. The Lower New River is 27 rapids long—more if the water level is high for the season—packed into 8 miles of adventure.

Summer weekends are the most popular time of year to raft the Lower New River and they fill up fast, so don't wait to book!
